CHARLBURY SOCIETY HISTORICAL RESEARCH GROUP

. Have you ever considered what Charlbury was like in Tudor and Stuart times?
. Was Charlbury a mainly rural or urban community?
. How were people housed?
. What possessions did they have?
. How did they earn a living?

The answers to these questions may be contained in the Charlbury probate documents including wills and inventories, which have never been fully researched

The Charlbury Society is forming a Historical Research Group to transcribe these and other documents to help answer these questions and is seeking volunteers to join the
group

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN JOINING THE GROUP?

We will start by learning to read old handwriting and hope to begin in the new year with daytime classes in Charlbury.
