Sat 18 May: Finstock Local History Society 50th Anniversary Event
Found something interesting whilst walking, gardening or metal detecting?
Edward Caswell, Finds Liaison Officer for Oxfordshire will be running a finds surgery. He will help to identify and help you to learn more about any finds from your garden, field or even the back of your drawer. No appointment needed, just come along.
There will be a photographic display from the local history archive, the unveiling of the old Post Office sign and a display about John Kibble, our celebrated historian.
At 3pm there will be a 15 minute 'stand up' talk on The Finstock Aureus, a Roman gold coin found in the Finstock fields in the 1850's.
Finstock Village Hall, 12-4pm. Tea, coffee and cake available.
