Fri 20 Apr 2018: Green Drinks: Natalie Bennett on Universal Basic Income - a policy whose time has come

This event is in the past.

8pm in the Cornbury Room, back of The Bell
Natalie Bennett, former leader of the Green Party, will talk about about the concept of a "citizens' income". This is an idea which is by no means confined to the Green Party but is being discussed in many circles nowadays as a possible solution to the problem of social inequality and the challenges of rapid technological change.

This is the first meeting organised under the banner of 'Green Drinks'. This is intended to be a regular get-together for those interested in environmental and social issues who might welcome the opportunity to discuss such things over a drink at a local venue. Towns in the UK and around the world have started monthly 'green drinks' on this basis, involving no political affiliation, just the sharing and exploration of common concerns.
