Tue 22 May 2018: Garden visit to Eastleach House, near Cirencester

This event is in the past.

Now fully booked!

Only half an hour car share drive from Charlbury, this magnificent 14 acre garden is designed to follow the natural contours of the land. It presents different and contrasting aspects, from the smooth lawns to the avenue, parkland and arboretum.

The main border, situated below a flight of stone steps, is visible from the house so is intended to display shrubs of interest throughout the year, coloured all shades of green and gold with silver and grey highlights.

The two most intensive parts, the rill garden and the walled garden, show the breadth of contrast between mood and colour. The walled garden is quiet and serene. A soothing fountain, warm blue seats, a summer house and a terrace surrounded by a planting scheme of softly subdued whites, pale pinks and baby blues invite you to linger.

There are four ponds, steps and some steep slopes.

The visit starts at 2.00 pm and will take up to 2 hours. There is an introductory talk by the owner, with a leaflet and plan of the garden.

Admission is £9.00 per person. Advance booking is essential. For enquiries and bookings email membership@charlburygardensociety.org.uk

Organised by Charlbury Garden Society.
