Thu 5 Nov 2015: 'Mental health: from margins to mainstream' with former Health Minister Paul Burstow

This event is in the past.

This event, which is being held by the local Liberal Democrats ahead of their AGM, will be in the Morris Room at the Corner House on Thursday November 5th at 7.30 pm. Everyone is welcome to come and hear our speaker, whether you are a Lib Dem member or not.

Our speaker Paul Burstow was Minster of State for Health from 2010 to 2012, with responsibility for care services and the elderly. He played a pivotal role in the drafting of the new Care Act, and doubled government funds for dementia research. He is no longer an MP but continues to campaign for better mental health services in the NHS, and is Professor of Health and Social Care at City University, and Chair of the Tavistock and Portman NHS mental health trust.
