Sat 30 May 2015: Lecture on painter Sir Terry Frost

The first talk in the summer series for the Friends of The Oxfordshire Museum in Woodstock, artist, curator and writer Clare Carswell MA(RCA), will speak on the life and work of post war British abstract painter Sir Terry Frost. Clare was taught by him at the Royal College of Art and has recollections and insights into the resilience and vision of this eminent artist who started painting whilst a prisoner of war in Stalag 383.
This talk will take his exuberant painting 'Jungle' held in the museum collection as a starting point and will look at how Frost responded to nature and translated his experiences into dynamic abstract works.
The talk will be held in The Coach House at The Oxfordshire Museum Woodstock
