Thu 24 Jul-Thu 31 Jul 2014: Get the kids outdoors this summer!

This event is in the past.

Fancy a family day out with a difference? Then why not head down to the wild woods with Little Wild Things, West Oxfordshire's newest community interest company. Little Wild Things is based in Charlbury, run by Christine Donaldson and Charlotte Hansford, and is all about outdoor nature play for children. Run in a very special patch of local woodland, by kind permission of the Ditchley estate they are kicking off the summer holidays with some outdoor adventures for all the family. Join them in the deep dark wood for wild 'Gruffalo adventures' on Thursday 24th July, or for 'Fire and Sticks' on Monday 28th, where children aged 6 and over will have the chance to light their own fire, pop popcorn and toast marshmallows and try their hand at making stick jewellery and pencils.

Or if you have a household of dinosaur lovers why not head along to their 'Wild Dinosaurs' event on Tuesday 29th July. This adventure is suitable for children of all ages and will have you finding dinosaur eggs, digging for bones and even making clay footprints. Alongside the activities, visitors to the woods can enjoy the tree swing, the mud kitchen and the tiny tepees, plus all the fantastic things that woodlands were made for like hide and seek, bug hunting and tree climbing.

There's also the chance to bring along a picnic to enjoy in the woods and there are always cold drinks, tea, coffee and delicious homemade cakes for sale, so why not come out to play!
