Tue 22 Apr 2014: Scything sessions at Blenheim Farm Nature Reserve

This event is in the past.

10.30am-12.30pm and 2pm-4pm. The best way to manage the grassland at Blenheim Farm for the flowers and insects is to scythe it in April to set the grass back just when it is starting to grow strongly. Then again in October after the flowers have finished and set seed.

If you would like to learn the lost skill of scything so that you can join in the scything parties this year, then please contact Christine Elliott.

This BBOWT reserve is signposted east from The Slade (bottom of the dip) in Charlbury Grid ref: SP365195 www.panoramio.com/photo/25077314
