Thanks Liz. Unfortunately the County Council highways map, only shows the road being fixed between Wellington Cottages and the Cornbury entrance, and not “pot hole alley” between the Cornbury entrance up to Pre School, and the pot holes up to Bull Corner. Could you confirm that “Pot hole alley” will be made safe over the coming weeks please?

No it couldn’t, because it’s housing money (Growth Deal/Section 106) which isn’t allowed to be spent on maintenance.

The money spent on the cycle and bus lane into pear tree could have filled every pot hole in the county

A biker friend of mine tells me it is a lethal bit of road. Perhaps some warning signs ,these were mentioned by our Leader (Liz) last year!!, at the present rate of degradation it is only time  before someone ends up under a bus!!. John H

Simon, hopefully this is correct as the condition of the current surface has passed over he ability to repair and overcoat with a ‘ surface dressing ‘. The results of leaving and not maintaining , demonstrating the false economy which will be duplicated to remaining section of road into the town - over 100 holes in this section

Mark, the link Liz put up states “surface inlay” which google suggests means planing off the top layer and resurfacing.

It’s being renamed “Pot Hole Alley”. 🥲

Will the surface be coated with chipping , or planed back with a new smooth tarmac surface.

All being done Sept 11th to 13th, including repainting the lines.  See the events section of this website.  The horse trials will be using the entrance on Fawler Road, as usual

Perhaps worth a special request to extend the distance being covered , as an addition to any existing proposal, the set up and administrative costs would not be needed or a significant reduction? Economy of scale ??

The road surface is terrible from Wellington Cottages to way past the Cornbury entrance Hannen. Also full of pot holes and worn out road markings between the Cornbury entrance and the Bull corner. 🥲

Thanks Liz.

Yes, it makes more sense to schedule it then, after the hundreds of juggernauts going to and from the iconic Wilderness Festival have stopped smashing up the surface.

The road is on the schedule to be resurfaced starting on September 11th.  You can see road resurfacing schemes planned for this financial year on this link
