Wed 29 May 2019: BRIDGE AT THE BULL: WEDNESDAY 29 MAY

This event is in the past.

Andrew Robson's bridge lessons are currently being taught in Oxford and practised at supervised weekly play sessions at The Trout in Godstow and in Islip Village Hall under the expert direction of Jonathan Davis, a longstanding friend and kindred bridge spirit of the famous Times bridge correspondent.  (For more details, see https://arb-oxf.uk).   A number of people have suggested that there might be demand in Charlbury for some organized bridge to be played here, and Jonathan has agreed to hold a trial session on the morning of Wednesday 29 May from 9.45 to 12.30 pm at The Bull, Charlbury.

For this first meeting it is proposed that a number of pre-dealt hands will be played, with Jonathan on hand to talk them through and assist and offer advice as needed.  These would be suitable for players of all standards, from novice to expert, although some knowledge of bidding and playing will be needed.  Future sessions, which it is hoped could be held regularly, could then be tailored to match the demand and requirements of participants, with a combination of teaching and supervised play.

The cost for the first session will be £5 per person, which will include a coffee or tea from the bar.  All are welcome and individuals who come alone will be paired with a playing partner.  If you would like to attend on 29 May, or to register interest for future sessions at Charlbury, or if you have any questions, please contact Jonathan at arb.oxford@gmail.com.
