Tue 21 Jan: Blenheim Farm Nature Reserve Work Party
ALL WELCOME.
There is a volunteer work party at Blenheim Farm our local BBOWT nature reserve. We will be cutting back some of the scrub to stop it encroaching on the grassland.
We'll be there from 10am until 1pm but please come for as long as you want - even 30 mins would be fine. Please contact Christine (811057) if you haven't been before and would like to find out more.
We will be meeting Ilona, the BBOWT Reserves Officer for Oxfordshire, at 9.45am in the layby at the bottom of the dip on The Slade near the footpath to the reserve to help carry the tools and PPE.
Please wear sturdy shoes and plenty of layers/waterproofs (hopefully we won't need them) and something to drink - BBOWT will be bringing biscuits for a tea break.
In late March/early April we will be scything the grass to reduce its vigour so the flowers get a head start. If you have some experience with scything or would like to learn then please contact Christine (811057).
Blenheim Farm Nature Reserve is accessed either by the footpath heading east from the dip at the bottom of the Slade, or from Centenary Woodland.
