Tue 6 Mar 2018: Modern Prophets - Visions of a better tomorrow

This event is in the past.

For the third week of the Lent series about people who have made our world a better place, we will show a film, 'Summer in the Forest', about Jean Vanier, a Roman Catholic academic, philosopher and theologian who started the L'Arche communities for people with disabilities.
The film will be shown in St Mary's Parish Church on Tuesday 6 March at 8 pm. Doors open 7.30 pm.
In 1964 when Vanier was living in France, he invited two men with developmental disabilities to leave their institution and come and live with him. The film will show how his ideas spread until now there are 147 L'Arche communities in 37 countries.
Admission free. Donations gratefully accepted to cover expenses and for Christian Aid's emergency appeal for the Rohingya refugees. Everyone is welcome.
Organised by Churches Together in Charlbury.
