Note from the Oxford Food Hub: Oxford Food Hub is at the centre of surplus food redistribution in Oxfordshire. We collect surplus fresh food from retailers, wholesalers and caterers, and deliver it free of charge to over 150 local charities and community groups in Oxfordshire. Everyone wins – we reduce food waste going into landfill and provide tasty fresh produce.
Now in our 12th year, we have grown steadily, and in 2020 we supplied over 600 tons of produce to local organisations – from homeless shelters and women’s refuges to children’s centres and community cafes. We have excellent relationships with the local community, and a great team of 4 staff and 120 committed volunteers.
We need a Chair who has vision, experience of being a chairperson, a passion for the environment and a desire to use their skills to work with our dedicated team of nine trustees. An understanding of the charitable community in Oxfordshire would be desirable. The role is voluntary with expenses paid, and time commitment is expected to be around 4 days per month.
