FAMILY FUNDRAISER IN CORNBURY PARK THIS SATURDAY

Families in Oxfordshire are invited to fun day in Cornbury Park on Saturday, 30 April to raise money for disadvantaged children. The day launches Slimming World?s annual Miles for SMILES fundraising event and is part of a 6,000km cycling challenge across Europe. The day is being organised by Slimming World to encourage families to enjoy some active fun together, while raising money for a good cause at the same time. Families visiting the event will be able to enjoy a range of activities including a zumba class, belly dancing, penalty shoot outs, children?s obstacle course, fairground stalls, food stalls and face painting as well as visiting stalls for the NSPCC and Slimming World.

The fundraiser will also give visitors the chance to get active to raise money for charity by riding, walking, hopping, skipping, jumping, jogging, crawling or running a mile to generate funds for the NSPCC and other children?s charities. The mile event will be led by Slimming World founder Margaret Miles-Bramwell OBE, FRSA and visitors will have the chance to meet and have their photograph taken with Margaret.

The Cornbury Park fun day is part of a challenge being led by Margaret?s son Ben Miles, who is in the middle of a 6,000km cycle across Europe to raise funds for disadvantaged children. Only 18 months ago Ben was overweight and inactive and was warned by his doctor that he was ?a heart attack waiting to happen?. Now he?s hoping to inspire people in Oxford and across the country to join him and raise money for disadvantaged children.
