Charlbury Honoured Citizen Award

Charlbury Town Council is launching a new award scheme to recognise the exceptional contributions made by individual citizens to the town and community of Charlbury. The Honoured Citizen Award is a tribute to a local resident who has given dedicated voluntary service, probably over many years, and as a consequence has made a significant positive difference to the Community of Charlbury and to the lives of those who live here.
We are hoping to announce the first inaugural awards before the end of 2018. After that, awards will be made each year and presented by the Chairman of the Town Council at a spring event celebrating volunteering in the town.
Nominations for these awards are invited for current or former Charlbury residents who have given outstanding service to the town. All nominations must be proposed and seconded by two current Charlbury residents, neither of whom are related to the nominee. Nominations for the inaugural awards should be submitted to the Town Clerk by midday 31st October 2018. Thereafter, nominations for awards to be made each spring should be submitted to the Town Clerk by midday 31st January of that year. Application forms and rules of the scheme are available on request from the Town Clerk ?" email charlburytc@btinternet.com or call 01608 810608 weekdays during normal office hours. Nominations should include a citation outlining the contribution made to the community by the nominee.
Serving members and employees of the Town Council are not eligible for the award, nor may they propose or second any nominations. Awards cannot be made posthumously.
