Charlbury resident Nick Way awarded OBE

Nick Way, of Market Street, has been awarded the OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours for services to the conservation of the UK's architectural heritage.

Until November, Nick was director general of the Historic Houses Association, which represents over 1,600 privately and charitably owned historic houses, castles and gardens. He told the Oxford Mail that his proudest achievement with the HHA had been helping families who happened to live in historic homes which require costly upkeep to develop new sources of income, such as weddings, to enable them to keep living there, often while opening parts of their house to the public.

Congratulations Nick!
