Oxfordshire County Council budget consultation

Oxfordshire County Council has already saved, or has plans to save, a total of £292 million between 2010/11 and 2017/18. The council now thinks they will need to save up to £50 million more in the four years between 2016/17 and 2019/20. This will affect us all, as spending on things like roads, libraries and care services are managed by the County Council. These services have already been affected by cuts.

There is a public consultation from now until November 30th. You can access this online at https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/cms/content/budget-savings-options-201617. There is also a public meeting at County Hall in Oxford on Tuesday October 27th, in Banbury at the Town Hall on Monday November 2nd and at the Regal Centre in Wallingford on Thursday November 5th. The meetings are from 7-8.30pm, and you are asked to let the County Council know if you plan to attend. A paper copy of the consultation documents will be available in the library.
