Did you know our fantastic Post Office is in danger of being forcibly shut down? Postmistress, Elaine, faces financial ruin and being made homeless. CHARLBURY CANNOT AFFORD TO LOSE ANOTHER VALUABLE SHOP!
IF YOU VALUE CHARLBURY POST OFFICE AND WANT TO SHOW SUPPORT PLEASE COME ALONG AT JUST BEFORE 11.30 AM ON THURSDAY 23 APRIL FOR AN OXFORD MAIL PHOTO OUTSIDE POST OFFICE
We need as many people as possible to show support please! Everyone welcome, it will only take 10 minutes of your time.
Under a Government scheme, thousands of village and town Postmasters are to be sacked if the Post Office can find a neighbouring shop to take over the running of the PO service. This would mean no dedicated serving point with all transactions being done amongst the shoppers at the check out of the store and served by general shop staff. And, in Charlbury, it would mean the loss of a well-loved and well-used shop/public facility.
