New bike stands on Church Street

Charlbury has its first town-centre bike parking. Four 'Sheffield stands', each capable of accommodating two bikes, have been installed outside the Rose & Crown on Church Street. The work was carried out and funded by Oxfordshire County Council after a request from Charlbury Cycling Group, supported by the Town Council.

The racks are intended to encourage more passing cyclists to stop in Charlbury and visit the town's shops and pubs. They also provide secure, easy bike parking for Charlbury residents who cycle into the town centre rather than driving.

Charlbury is on a proposed National Cycle Network route (442) from Oxford to Worcester which, when opened, will attract more cyclists to the town and therefore bring more passing trade to local businesses.
