Big turnout for ChOC events

Last Saturday's concert by Ensemble Ox in the Memorial Hall was the latest success in ChOC's autumn programme. A dozen professional musicians performed works by Bach, Peter Maxwell Davies, Webern and Kurt Weill to an enthusiastic audience of over 90. This was just three weeks after the film 'Salmon Fishing in the Yemen' drew an audience of 111, the third biggest since ChOC was founded in 2005.

Later this month ChOC expects a big turnout for the flamenco guitarist Eduardo Niebla. Niebla bridges his flamenco gypsy jazz roots with Indian, Arabic, classical and modern jazz to produce the most electrifying, brilliant and poignantly poetic guitar playing imaginable. ChOC is already selling tickets to an audience from across the south of England, so they really mean it when they say, book early!

Meanwhile, on Sunday October 14 ChOC shows the film 'Moonrise Kingdom', a warm, whimsical, comic and poignant movie about two 12-year-olds who fall in love and run away. It's a rewarding and memorable film and the certificate allows it to be shown to anyone age 12 and upwards.

All ChOC upcoming events are at www.chocfilms.info with more programme details and booking information.
