Wed 16 Jan 2019: Charlbury WI - January meeting and talk, "The Ascott Martyrs"

This event is in the past.

The first meeting for 2019 will be followed by a talk given by Carol Anderson of the Oxfordshire Museums Council.

The Ascott Martyrs were sixteen women some with babies in arms who were imprisoned in 1873 for supporting their striking farm worker husbands in the Oxfordshire village of Ascott Under Wychwood.

Visitors are very welcome to join us for the evening. Do come along and, after the talk, enjoy a cuppa and a slice of homemade cake.

Memorial Hall, Charlbury at 7.30pm
