We are honoured to welcome the internationally renowned viola da gamba players Asako Morikawa and Richard Boothby. The latter will be making a return visit to Charlbury after his extremely popular recital for CRAG in 2017.

Founder and Director of the Fretwork Viol Consort and professor of viola da gamba at the Royal College of Music, Richard Boothby is a distinguished player who has recorded over 80 CDs.

This will be a rare opportunity to hear some seldom heard gems of the French viola da gamba repertoire, introduced by the soloists. The hour-long recital will be followed by homemade cakes and tea, when there will be an opportunity to meet the artists and buy copies of their CDs.

The works played will include:

Jean de Ste Colombe: Le Retour; Le Raporté; Tombeau: Les Regrets
François Couperin: Douzième Concert - pointé-coulé; Badinage; Lentement, et patétiquement; Air
Marin Marais: Les Folies d'Espagne

Organised by Charlbury Refugee Action Group. All proceeds will go to refugee relief
