Based on true events, this award winning film directed by Clint Eastwood tells of how on 15th January 2009, Capt. Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger (Tom Hanks) attempted an emergency landing in New York's Hudson River after US Airways Flight 1549 struck a flock of geese. Miraculously, all 155 passengers and crew survived the harrowing ordeal, and Sullenberger became a national hero in the eyes of the public and the media. However, despite these accolades, the famed pilot faced an investigation that threatened to destroy his career and reputation.
