Long-time Charlbury resident Derek Collett presents an illustrated talk about his biography of Nigel Balchin, the first to be devoted to this famous British novelist. As well as being the author of the World War Two classic The Small Back Room, Balchin was also a Hollywood scriptwriter and an industrial psychologist who played a crucial role in the successful introduction of Black Magic chocolates in the 1930s! Come along to find out more about this fascinating man. Copies of Derek's book will be available to purchase at a discounted price.

Venue: Morris Room at the Corner House
Time: Doors open 7.30 pm for a prompt start at 8.00 pm
