Talk to be given by Conrad Keating, Writer-in-Residence at the Wellcome Unit for the History of Medicine at the University of Oxford. His talk will be based on his widely acclaimed book 'Great Medical Discoveries: An Oxford Story'. It will include references to the work of Roger Bacon in the thirteenth century, to the invention of the Oxford Knee in the twentieth century and to the work of the Nobel prizewinner Dorothy Hodgkin, pictured here, who discovered the molecular structure of penicillin.
