"The word photography was coined by Sir John Herschel in 1839. It was an amalgam of two Greek words, photo (light) and graphy (to draw) Cameras do not recognise faces, trees, buildings or mountains. They only recognise levels of light. Photographers do not photograph objects, but rather light and the way it delineates those objects. Photography is the study of light, the perception of light and the interpretation of light"
