Charlbury School Association

What is the CSA?

The CSA is the parent led fundraising body for Charlbury Primary School, a registered charity, dedicated to organising events and raising money to fund additional equipment and facilities for the school.

Who is the CSA?

Constitutionally, ALL parents of children at the school are automatically members of the CSA. The CSA is lead by a committee of parents, the headmistress and the school secretary. The parent committee members have all volunteered and are appointed by consensus.

What does the CSA do?

The CSA committee organise a variety of fund-raising events throughout the school year, we also make grant applications and oversee the spending of any monies that are raised.

Why does the CSA exist?

In common with other schools, especially when educational funding is being cut, our primary school increasingly relies on the CSA for a long list of classroom and school resources.

What has the money been spent on?

Recently we have purchased a large piece of play equipment for the playground, which has provided play opportunities for all ages. In the school year (2010/11) we have also given money towards funding transport, classroom resources and equipment for Forest School.

How has the money been raised?

During the school year (2010/11) we have had various events; a couple of coffee mornings at the Corner House, Quiz Night, Christmas Fair, made Festive Door Wreaths, cake stall at the Street Fair, tea tent at The Rally Show in Cornbury, hosted a performance of 'Alice in Wonderland' by the Oxfordshire Theatre Company, organised a textile re-cycling event, and co-ordinated a book club.

How do you get involved?

You can help by supporting CSA events and get involved with the organisation if you would like. We are always looking for new ideas and new members of the committee, especially if you have skills in grant applications, publicity and marketing. If you don't feel a role on the committee is for you but you have an idea please let us know. Whatever commitment you can give your support will be warmly welcome and greatly appreciated.
