| Richard Fairhurst Sat 27 Jun | Any Saturday train: 80 minutes' delay Last evening train from the west (20.53 from Great Malvern) eventually turned up at Charlbury ab out 1hr20 late. FGW did offer free tea, coffee etc. which is a first, I think. |
| Derek Collett Sat 27 Jun | Any Saturday train: 25 minutes' delay The last train from London (21.48) ran about 25 mins late all the way to Charlbury. |
| Derek Collett Mon 8 Jun | 09.38 Charlbury-Paddington 10.07: Full and standing all the way from Charlbury to Oxford (as it was last Thursday). How long has this been going on for and when will it stop? |
| dave wells Tue 2 Jun | 06.10 Charlbury-Paddington 0606 at Paddington at 0740 - signal problems near West Drayton ? |
| Derek Collett Fri 22 May | Other weekday train 14.19 OXF to GMT cancelled due to "suspected police activity on the line"! |
| Ed Fri 22 May | Other weekday train The 1419 from Oxford (1321 from Paddington) was cancelled as the train got stuck at Pangbourne due to suspected fatality at Goring & Streatley at 2pm. It turned out to be a drunk asleep on the track who was removed by British Transport Police, but only after closing all the tracks for an hour and causing travel chaos! |
| brian Fri 22 May | Other weekday train Only those who live in Goring can afford to get drunk nowadays! |
| Dave Sangwine Tue 28 Apr | 06.37 Charlbury-Paddington: 16 minutes' delay Late due to previous signalling fault. |
| Dave Sangwine Mon 20 Apr | 06.37 Charlbury-Paddington: 56 minutes' delay Cancelled due to fault. I hope the 07:26 has no delays... |
| Iain Macbriar Thu 16 Apr | 07.50 Charlbury-Oxford (halts train) Cancelled - due to the driver being taken ill, according to the conductor on the following 08:35 train, which made extra stops at the halts. As a result the 08:35 left Charlbury 6 minutes late, stopped at Finstock, Combe and Hanbrough, and got to Oxford 14 late. 9 late at Paddington. |
| Iain Macbriar Thu 16 Apr | 15.51 Paddington/16.49 Oxford-Charlbury On time |
| William Crossley Tue 7 Apr | 18.46 Charlbury-Paddington: 15 minutes' delay Delayed by late-running 17.21 |
| William Crossley Tue 7 Apr | 17.21 Paddington/18.16 Oxford-Charlbury: 15 minutes' delay According to FGW website. Usual trail of chaos followed in its wake |
| Iain Macbriar Tue 7 Apr | 17.21 Paddington/18.16 Oxford-Charlbury: 15 minutes' delay This train was on time from Paddington, but left Reading 18 mins late as a result of "waiting for a member of train crew" who was "arriving on a late-running train". It left Oxford 17 late and arrived Charlbury 15 late. The logic of changing one of the train crew in mid-journey is lost on me I'm afraid. |
| William Crossley Tue 7 Apr | 17.51 Paddington/18.55 Oxford-Charlbury: 15 minutes' delay Knock-on delay due to late running of 17.21 but back to the bad old days on board with no apology or explanation of what had happened |
| William Crossley Mon 6 Apr | 09.38 Charlbury-Paddington Now 10.08. Cancelled, due to earlier signalling problems, according to FGW website. |
| Derek Collett Fri 3 Apr | Other weekday train: 30 minutes' delay 15.05 to LPD arrived at Charlbury about half an hour late. |
| Susie Finch Thu 2 Apr | 17.21 Paddington/18.16 Oxford-Charlbury: 15 minutes' delay Didnt arrive into Oxford until 18.27 and was over 15 minutes late into Charlbury. Also one carriage short so standing until Hanborough. |
| Susie Finch Tue 31 Mar | 17.31 Oxford-Charlbury (halts train): 20 minutes' delay This was over 20 minutes late leaving Oxford due to the fact there was a train on the single track into Oxford. However, we waited in Oxford until the train arrived into Oxford. Why? Usually they let the train leave and we sit at Wolvercote. |
| Susie Finch Mon 30 Mar | 17.31 Oxford-Charlbury (halts train): 30 minutes' delay Over 30 minutes late leaving Oxford as the train manager wasnt happy about the train having no loo! Still went ahead though. |
| William Crossley Mon 30 Mar | 17.51 Paddington/18.55 Oxford-Charlbury: 4 minutes' delay Delay down to being held at Oxford to allow a freight to overtake. Pleased to say that the promised HST did appear tonight. Perhaps they can now focus on getting one back on the 10.08. |
| William Crossley Fri 27 Mar | 17.51 Paddington/18.55 Oxford-Charlbury: 4 minutes' delay Late tonight, which is a happily rare occurrence these days, delay was incurred before Oxford. Of more note was that this service and the return train from Worcester were the last First Great Western services ever to be operated by an Adelante, as the three remaining sets are off to a new life, probably running between London Kings Cross and Yorkshire. The conductor announced that from Monday this service will be operated by an HST. |
| Susie Finch Mon 23 Mar | 07.29 Charlbury-Paddington: 30 minutes' delay Over 30 minutes late into Oxford. Initially told it was due to signalling problems, but on the train the train manager told us it was due to the fact that a train was cancelled, and a subsequent one had to stop at lots of stations! |
| Susie Finch Mon 23 Mar | 07.50 Charlbury-Oxford (halts train) Cancelled |
| Shelagh Scott Mon 16 Mar | 15.51 Paddington/16.49 Oxford-Charlbury Train arrived at Oxford 1712, but was then held there until it 'became' the 1731 to Worcester - so arrival at Charlbury 46 minutes late. |
