CORNBURY FESTIVAL 2008: A BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO SUPPORTED PRE-SCHOOL

Thank you to everyone who helped with the pig roast and for those of you that stopped by to say "hello" and bought a pork sandwich from us. The Cornbury pig roast is our biggest fundraising event so your support is much appreciated.

Ofsted inspection, October 2007

A recent OFSTED inspection rated Charlbury Pre-School as ‘GOOD' overall and ‘OUTSTANDING' in helping children achieve well and enjoy what they do.

The OFSTED report found that the children "are happy and have developed excellent levels of confidence and self-esteem. Children are well supported and have close and caring relationships with staff."

The Pre-School would also like to thank Fairfax Estate Agents an Hydac Technology Ltd for their generosity in jointly sponsoring the purchase of a new playhouse which is being much enjoyed by the children.

About Charlbury Pre-School

Charlbury Pre-school is a thriving, voluntary-run organisation that seeks to provide education through play for children from 2 1/2 to 5 years, and support for their parents. The Pre-school is open to every family in the community and welcomes both fathers and mothers, other relations and other carers, including childminders. It welcomes people from all cultural, ethnic, religious and social groups, with or without disabilities.

The pre-school aims to enhance the development and education of children in a community based group. It is led by a dedicated group of play leaders and their assistants. There is a maximum of 24 children per session and we have a high adult to child ratio.

All of these sessions take place during school term time only. We are registered with OFSTED and are subject to regular inspections, both by OFSTED and the local government Early Years Team. You are welcome to view these reports at Pre-School.

Session Times

Monday to Friday - 9am to 1pm. Children will need to bring a packed lunch.

Alternatively, you can choose to pick your child up at 11.30 to cover free Voucher Sessions only.

Charlbury Pre-School Committee

The pre-school is a voluntary run body with an elected management committee, which is responsible for managing finance, admissions, staff recruitment and development. Parents are elected onto the Committee at the AGM during the spring term each year, but members may need to be co-opted onto the committee at other times of the year.
Fees are kept at a low level through fundraising. Throughout the year our fundraising committee organises a variety of events, and we rely on the support of parents and the wider community to contribute to make pre-school accessible to everyone in Charlbury.
Your involvement in either committee is encouraged and if you are interested please talk to a committee member or a member of staff.
