Street Fair

THE MAIN PURPOSE OF STREET FAIR and OPEN GARDENS, whilst intending to entertain local people is to raise money for the upkeep of the Corner House and War Memorial Hall – the two community buildings that play such an important part in the lives of so many people in and around Charlbury.

We are now starting to organise this year's events and to all those wishing to join the Street Fair Team this year you will be very welcome. Regular attendance of the meetings is not essential... it’s what you contribute ‘behind the scenes’ that counts. So to all of you, who enjoyed last year's fair, please think about even giving just a few hours of your time. Please don't just read this, and say well maybe I will help – and then forget about it. Contact Barry Cooper at barrycooper@prisymid.com or Susie Finch at susanna_finch@hotmail.com. We look forward to hearing from you all.

Theme for this year
The theme for this year's Street Fair is "All Creatures Great and Small" and because of this we are very lucky that Robert Hardy has kindly agree to open this year's Street Fair.

Street Fair Quiz Night - with Bangers and Mash!
I think that all who attended the Quiz Night will agree that a good time was had by all. The Memorial Hall was packed with over 100 people taking part. Something to go in the Street Fair calendar for next year, may be? The total raised is still being counted, but we will post as soon as we know.

Between now and Street Fair weekend
We will begin to start selling programmes and draw tickets every Saturday morning from Saturday 28th August, outside the Corner House. We will also be present at the Wychwood Forest Fair and the Farmers' Market on 11th September - so dont think you can get away from us! The cash prizes have increased this year - so buy more!! See you outside the Corner House!

Egg Throwing Competition - 17th September
